Virginia May (Baca) Janca Langley, 85, of Cistern, died Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Monument Hill Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in La Grange. Virginia was born in Fayetteville on July 21, 1930, the daughter of Vinc Frank Baca and Sophie (Zapalac) Baca. She married Milton A. Janca on June 21, 1950 in La Grange and after Milton’s death, she married James J. Langley on Aug. 1, 1980 in Cistern. Virginia was a graduate of La Grange High School. She was employed as an Elementary School Secretary at Flatonia ISD for 14 years and retired in May, 1991. She also was a teacher at Cistern School for five years and an MHMR Aide in Schulenburg for three years. Virginia was a very devout Catholic her whole life. She was a member of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church and was their Youth Choir Director. She enjoyed music, loved to sing and dance. Her many hobbies included sewing and gardening. She had the “greenest thumb” with flowers blooming throughout her yard. Her happiest times were when family came together. She was an excellent cook and made the best cookies for family gatherings. You could see her enjoyment when everyone was eating the feast she prepared which consisted of seven-eight course meals. She is survived by two daughters: Judi Bayless and husband, Scott; Debbie Taylor and husband, Ken, all of La Grange; three sons: Chris Janca and wife, Janis, of La Grange; Royce Janca and wife, Renee, of Deanville; Pat Janca and wife, Mary, of La Grange; brother, Lawrence “Jack” John Baca and wife, Betty Lou, of Houston; sister-in-law, Patricia Mueller of Seguin; 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Milton Janca, who died July 3, 1978; second husband, Papa Jack Langley, who died May 24, 2011; three brothers; two sisters; one grandson; one great-grandson; and one daughter-in-law. Visitation will held on Friday, July 8, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home, located at 208 W. Pearl St., in La Grange. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. A Celebration of Life mass will be held at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, located at 113 Manchester St., in Cistern, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2016. Burial will follow at the Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl 17, Chicago, Illinois 60601-7633; Hospice Brazos Valley, 1048 N.
