Bryan Leo Zigal
Bryan Leo Zigal, 65, of La Grange, joined the Lord peacefully at home on Monday, July 11, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Bryan was born on Feb. 2, 1951, in Fayette County to Leo B. Zigal and Norma (Marquart) Zigal. He grew up in the Houston area and on the weekends lived in Plum with his grandparents spending a lot of that time at the Zigal Store. He married Debbie Menking on Dec. 21, 1996 in Cameron. They both brought back their roots to Fayette County in 2005 where he continued operating his company, Zigal Insurance Agency, until retiring Dec. 31, 2015. His favorite hobby was fishing and spending time at their weekend home on the Cape Carancahau Bay with his fishing buddies. He also enjoyed entertaining with his guitar, gambling, motorcycle rides, church picnics, good ole country and polka music he could dance to. Bryan loved his family and friends. He enjoyed talking to people and never met a stranger. He liked to listen and laugh but he loved to cut up and tell jokes and stories to make others laugh. Everyone he came into contact with enjoyed his company and always left with a smile. Even up to the very end he still had his family and friends laughing at his jokes and reminding them “I’m OK”. He is survived by his wife, Debbie; two daughters: Kendall Lane and husband, Charles, and Amanda Zigal all of Knoxville, Tenn.; son, Clint Fiedler and wife, Angela, of Fredericksburg; eight grandchildren; three-great grandchildren; two sisters: Ann Miller and husband, Art, and Kay Rodriguez and husband, Robert, all of Cedar Creek; “special aunt”, Joyce Rohde of Port Lavaca; ”special mother-in-law”, Dolly Newton of Maysfield; two sisters-in-law: Belinda Beyer and husband, Ron, of Pflugerville and Pam Menking of La Grange; brother-in-law, Myron Menking and wife, Laura, of Floresville; “special niece”, Lindsey Tillery and husband, Eric, and their children: Kyla “Jane” and Kinley “Pots” all of La Grange; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and many close friends.
