Marvin Herold Kurio

Marvin Herold Kurio, 84, of Serbin, died Monday, July 11, 2016 at Oakland Manor Nursing Home in Giddings. Marvin Herold Kurio was born on Nov. 1, 1931 in Serbin to Carl and Marie (Mathijetz) Kurio. He was united in marriage with Dorothy (Weiser) Kurio on Oct. 9, 1954 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin. Their marriage was blessed with four children, Dennis, Cliff, Joyce and Kathleen. He was employed and retired from Lindsey Auto Electric in Austin after 42 years. He was a member of the South Lee County Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin. Funeral services for Marvin Kurio, 84 of Serbin, will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 15, 2016 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin with Rev. John Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church Restoration Fund, 1572 CR 211, Giddings, Texas 78942 or to the charity of one’s choice. Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings was in charge of arrangements.
