New LGISD After School Program Limited to 48

By ANDY BEHLEN The La Grange ISD board Monday  hired Kelli Meinholdt as coordinator for the new Little Leps After School Care Program. Meinholdt previously headed up the Martin Luther Lutheran Day School in Carmine.

Registration began on Wednesday, July 20, and will be conducted on a first come, first serve basis. Enrollment will be capped at 48 students.

Superintendent Bill Wagner said the district might consider hiring additional personnel to expand the program if there is demand.

The program will run Monday-Friday during the school year from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. The program includes a 15 minute snack, 45 minute homework period and 60 minutes of  gym and playground time. Parents will pay a one-time $125 fee for supplies and $120 per month for the first student. Additional students are $95 a month. The district expects the program to pay for itself.
