Fernando Soto Aguilar, 31, of La Grange, died Thursday, July 21, 2016. Fernando was born in San Juan De Guadalupe, Mexico, on Jan. 3, 1985, the son of Fernando Soto and Maria (Guadalupe) Aguilar. He married Nayeli Pedroza on Dec. 15, 2008 in Bryan. Fernando worked as a Driller for Patterson-UTI Management Services in Snyder. He enjoyed watching TV, riding his horses and most of all spending time with his son and daughter. He is survived by his wife, Nayeli; two children: Frida and Fernando Andres Soto of La Grange; father, Fernando Soto and wife, Belia, of Carmine; mother, Maria Aguilar, of North Carolina; seven brothers: Rolando Soto and wife, Maria; Roberto Soto and wife, Karina, all of Carmine; Daniel Soto and wife, Kimberly; Gerardo Soto and wife, Claudia; Don Soto and wife, Isela, all of La Grange; Edgar Martinez and Jesus Soto both of Carmine; grandmothers: Margarita Orono and Felicitas Castillo and husband, Reyes Aguilar, all of Mexico; father-in-law, Cleofas Pedroza and wife, Leticia, of Bryan; three sisters-in-law: Karina Martinez and husband, Eliaz, of Bryan; Alejandra Sanchez and husband, Jose, of Hearne; Stephanie Pedroza of Bryan; two brothers-in-law: Christian Pedroza and wife, Yessenia; Jose Pedroza and wife, Arazeli, all of Bryan; three uncles: Jesus Soto and wife, Maria, of West Point; Demetrio Soto and wife, Dominga, of Flatonia; Hugo Soto and wife, Pilar, of Plum; two aunts: Griselda Soto and husband, Jesus Lopez, of Chihuahua, Mexico; Lucila Soto and husband, Mario Aldaco, of Durango, Mexico; numerous nieces, nephews and  cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Benigno Soto. Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 from 1 to 7 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home. Family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral services were held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 539 E. Pearl St. in La Grange, at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2016. Burial followed at La Grange City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
