Judy Charlene (Heathcock) Hielscher, 62, of Winchester, died Sunday, July 31, 2016. Judy was born in Andrews, Texas on Jan. 9, 1954, the daughter of J. W. and Ina Mae (Hartley) Heathcock. She married Jerald “Jerry” Hielscher on Oct. 4, 1980 at St. Michael Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winchester. Judy worked as a dental assistant in Houston. Jerry and Judy moved from Houston to Winchester in 1981. She then worked for Meals on Wheels, Harris General Store, Jo Lynn’s Dress Shop and the Family Crisis Center. Judy enjoyed crafting, cooking and baking. She especially loved baking cakes for weddings and showers. She is survived by her husband, Jerry, of 35 years; daughter, Heather Deters and husband, Greg, of Winchester; son, Jerry Hielscher and wife, Amber, of Winchester; granddaughter and best friend, Hadley Deters, of Winchester; mother, Ina Mae Heathcock, of Katy; brothers: Glenn Heathcock of Katy; Gary Heathcock and wife, Cathy, of San Antonio; Kenneth Heathcock and wife, Janell, of Richmond; Ronnie Heathcock and wife, Betsy, of Sugarland; Wendell Heathcock of Liberty Hill; Lanny Heathcock and wife, Traci, of Spring; Robin Heathcock and fiancée, Ellen, of Lake Jackson; sisters: Beverly Watkins of Katy; Teresa Strother of Angleton and Cindy Wyeth and husband, Pete, of Austin; brothers-in-law: Doug Debakey of Houston; Scott Hielscher and wife, Cindy; Terry Hungerford and wife, Patti; all of Winchester; nieces and nephews: Lauren and Eve; Evan, Melinda, Christina, Jennifer and Michael; Sean; Thomas; Corry, Tracy, Wesley; Jacquelyn, Kathryn, Kayla and Allyssa; Megan and Brian; Chuck, Candace and Erin; Jacob and Caitlyn; Kara and Tylor; Chuck and Ashley; and numerous aunts, uncles, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, J.W. Heathcock; sister, Linda Bowman Debakey; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carroll and Barbara Hielscher; two nephews: Logan and Michael Wyeth. Visitation was held on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016 from 12 to 7 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home. Family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at St. Michael Evangelical Lutheran Church, 700 Frio St., Winchester, at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 5, 2016. Burial will follow at St. Michael Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christopher House, 2820 E.
