that little voice

I was recently lamenting the fact that not many streets in La Grange have sidewalks for those of us who walk a bit. Certainly the downtown (business) district is graced with walkways so folks don’t have to walk in the streets to get around the square. But sidewalks are scarce in the residential sections of town, and I think that is a shame. Sidewalks were once of major importance for a ‘proper’ village. Streets were muddy, dirty, and dangerous, so city leaders were encouraged to lay walks so pedestrians could keep their shoes, pant legs and skirts from dragging in the grime.
