Michael Porter Hancock, 67, of Round Top, died Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016 while doing what he loved, working on his ranch. Michael was born in Baytown on Feb. 8, 1949, the son of Samuel Hancock and Willie (Graves) Hancock. Michael married the love of his life, Judith Singeltary, on Dec. 18, 1971 in Conroe. Michael was a man of God, and his faith was of utmost importance to him. He was an engineer in the oil industry and an entrepreneur. However, his greatest passion was working on his ranch and renovating his farm house. He enjoyed serving his community of Round Top. Mostly he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, who endlessly adored him. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife, Judith; daughter, Amanda Morcos and husband, Alex, of New York, N.Y.; son, Ross Hancock and wife, Julie, of Hockley; six grandchildren: Josie, Charlie and George Morcos; Wyatt, Luke and Hudson Hancock; brother, Larry Hancock and wife, Sandra, of Nacogdoches. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Celebration of Life was held at the Round Top Rifle Hall, 1710 FM 1457, Round Top, at 1 p.m. on Monday, Sept., 19.
