Fayette County’s Dancing Star Survives First Cut

Former Texas governor and current Round Top resident Rick Perry survived the first round of elimination on Dancing With the Stars Tuesday.

Perry had received the lowest set of scores from the television show’s four judges, but garnered more than enough votes from the viewing public to keep him alive.

Contestants continue to be eliminated on a weekly basis from the show based on judges scores and viewer votes until only one winner is left.

In addition to Perry’s dancing,  the millions of viewers of the show were treated to a behind-the-scenes video of the former governor and his pro dancing partner Emma Slater as they practiced in La Grange at Saltare Studio. The video also showed the duo visiting Back Porch BBQ in La Grange and at the Fayette County Fair carnival and petting zoo.
