Hartman

Burney Delton Hartman, 91, of Fayetteville, died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016. Burney was born in Shelby on Sept. 17, 1925, the son of Henry and Hilda (Krebs) Hartmann. He married Irene Hackemack on March 15, 1945 in Houston. Burney worked in route sales and was later promoted to a management position for Mrs. Baird’s Baking Company. He retired with 50 years of service. Burney and Irene were always together sharing all things. He dearly loved his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Irene, of 71 years; daughter, Bonnie Rohde and husband, Tom, of Fayetteville; and son, Barry Dean Hartman and wife, Esther, of Katy; two grandchildren: Monica Rohde Michalec and husband, Doug; Tommy Rohde, Jr., and wife, Annette all of Fayetteville; six greatgrandchildren: Tara Michalec Murphy and husband, Sean; Corrie Michalec, Jared Michalec, Blake Rohde, Brett Rohde and Braden Rohde; two great-great- grandchildren: Ainsley and Adeline Murphy; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Doris Grebe and her husband, Clarence. Visitation was held on Monday, Sept. 26, 2016 from 2 to 7 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Knesek Chapel, 207 N. Live Oak St., in Fayetteville. Family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 201 N. Rusk, in Fayetteville at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016. Burial will follow at Richter Cemetery in Round Top. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 87, Fayetteville, Texas 78940.
