Charles “Bear Tracks” Brossmann, 77, died Sept. 28, 2016. He was born Dec. 25, 1938 in St. John, Texas to Herman and Clara Brossmann. He married the love of his life Delores “Tootsie” Getschmann on Oct. 31, 1965. He retired from Fordyce LTD as a long time superintendent. Bear Tracks, known for his oversized hands, feet, and big heart, enjoyed listening to polka music, driving in his favorite Chevrolet pickup, spending time with his daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren, grand dogs, family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife and his parents. Bear is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Spiegel and husband Richard of Buda, Lisa Redman and husband Nathan of St. John; grandchildren, Kyra and Maeve Spiegel, Brant and Barett Redman; brother, James Brossmann and wife Rita of Schulenburg and sister, Mary Lou Dujka and husband Willie of East Bernard; sisters-in-law, Glenda Munsch and husband Joe of La Grange, and Sandra Mendel and husband Gary of St. John; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation was held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016, with the Holy Rosary recited at 4 p.m. at Colonial FuneralHome in Victoria. Funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m. on Monday,  Oct. 3, 2016 at Our Lady of Victory Cathedral in Victoria. Burial followed in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Victoria. Pallbearers were Scotty Brossmann, Clayton Brossmann, Darren Redding, John Dujka, Mark Dujka, Mark Munsch, Josh Mendel, Michael Cooper, Allen Slavik, and Nick Lacina. Honorary Pallbearers were Kyra Spiegel, Maeve Spiegel, Brant Redman, and Barett Redman. In lieu of floral gifts, memorials may be made to JDRF(Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation), St. Rose of Lima Catholic School in Schulenburg, or a charity of your choice.
