October 4, 1966 PTA president Mrs. Margie Williams announced the winners of the freshman academic Rosa Meinecke awards: Linda Kana, Jean Miertschin, Gordon Lloyd Clegg and Patricia Holub. Hank Paine received a Rosa Meinecke athletic award. It was La Grange 7, Sealy 0, in a north wind blowing 20 to 30 mph at Tiger Field in Sealy on Friday night. The whistling norther played havoc with punts, passes and ballhandling, bringing on a plague of missed opportunities for both teams.
