Three Die in Monday Crash

Three people died in a Halloween night head-on collision on Interstate 10 near Schulenburg. One of the deceased was a 52-year-old woman from Schulenburg.

According to a report from Trooper Robert Gulash with the Texas Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31.

The wreck took place about two miles west of Schulenburg between Bryant Road and FM 2672. Gulash’s report said 52-year-old Susan Clark of Schulenburg was driving a green 1995 GMC 1500 pickup heading west in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10. The wrong-way driver struck a silver 2010 Chevy Tahoe in the outside lane. The front driver’s side of the pickup struck the front driver side of the Tahoe.

The Tahoe was driven by Dale Benny Mount, 76 of Sulphur, La. Mount’s wife, 62-year-old Theresa Lonkowski Mount, was a passenger in the vehicle.
