Craig Alan Popp

Craig Alan Popp, 57, of La Grange, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2016 in Austin.

Craig was born in Eagle Lake on May 10, 1959, the son of Rudolph and Doris (Eggemeyer) Popp. He married Sheilah Lynn Roberts on January 15, 1977 in La Grange.

Before he became ill, he was a Crew Foreman at Gandy’s Oilfield.

“Mr. Fix It” to friends, Craig enjoyed refurbishing old wood and doors into beautiful furniture. He was a servant elder at The Remnant Church; attended his grandson’s football games and granddaughter’s plays; and watched his granddaughter’s college football team, SHSU, on TV.

He is survived by his wife, Sheilah (Roberts) Popp of La Grange; daughter, Bridgette Popp of La Grange; son, Brodie Popp of La Grange; brother, Keith Popp of Conroe; two sisters: Carol Sepeda and husband, Mingo of College Station and Kelly Lopez and husband, Jose of Houston; aunt, Marie Stavinoha of Conroe; two granddaughters: Chelsea of Huntsville and Abigail of La Grange; and grandson, Marcus of La Grange.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.

A Celebration of Life will be held at The Remnant Church, 2010 Von Minden Rd., La Grange, at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 9, 2016.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Remnant Church, P.O. Box 638, La Grange 78945.
