Five Arrested for Christmas Eve Robbery Spree Along Interstate 10
A Christmas Eve robbery spree along Interstate 10 came to an end on Saturday morning, Dec. 24, when officers from multiple agencies tracked down and arrested five suspects.
The suspects, three adult men and two male juveniles from northeast Houston, allegedly held up convenience stores in Weimar, Schulenburg, Waelder and Seguin in the early morning hours of Dec. 24.
Weimar Police Lt. Steven Krhovjak stopped their vehicle a short distance west of Columbus.
According to Weimar Police Chief Todd Jacobs, the group robbed the Valero Wildcat Express station around 3:45 a.m. Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reported that five individuals robbed the Stripes Convenience Store in Schulenburg around 4 a.m. From there the five allegedly robbed a store in Seguin before holding up another store in Waelder on their way back to Houston.
Khrovjak stopped the vehicle in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 around 7:30 a.m. with assistance from Columbus Police and Department of Public Safety.
Jacobs said officers found a large amount of cash in the vehicle. He said the conveince store workers who called 911 reported that the men wore hoodies and masks and brandished what appeared to be a real gun during the robberies. Jacobs said officers only found a toy gun in the vehicle.
Schulenburg and Weimar Police questioned the suspects. Brenek said four of the five gave confessions. In addition, Jacobs said he believes at least one of the suspects was involved in another robbery of the Weimar Love’s Truck Stop in November.
Police identified the three adult suspects as 24-year-old Domonique Houston, 19-year-old Alfred Dorsey Jr. and 22-year-old Jamarcus Clintion Wallace. All three are from northeast Houston, according to Brenek.
The suspects were incarcerated and face multiple felony charges in four different jurisdictions. Jacobs said officers are “getting close” to making additional arrests in the case.
