Flatonia Travel Center to Get Tesla Charging Station

The Amigo’s Travel Center in Flatonia, which opened for business last week, will soon get a charging station for Tesla electric cars.

Flatonia City Manager Mark McLaughlin told the Record last week that the owners of Amigo’s reached a deal with Tesla to bring a charging station in Flatonia. 

McLaughlin said Tesla only has one other charging station between Houston and San Antonio on Interstate 10, located in Columbus. However, he said that station can only charge two vehicles at a time. The one coming to Amigo’s will be able to charge eight vehicles at once.

Owners of Tesla vehicles can charge their cars for free at any of the company-sponsored roadside charging stations.
