Three Arrested on Drug Charges Following Search in Schulenburg
Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies and Schulenburg Police arrested three suspects in Schulenburg on drug charges on Friday, Dec. 23.
According to a report from Sheriff Keith Korenek, the Sheriff’s Office and Schulenburg Police conducted an extensive investigation in which officers learned that narcotics were being sold from a residence. Officers obtained a search warrant and conducted a search of the residence on Dec. 23.
The Sheriff’s report said three suspects were detained at the time of the search, but the suspect named in the search warrant, 38-year-old Ray Houston of Schulenburg, was not at the home when officers arrived.
“Nearly 50 grams of powder and crack cocaine, with a street value of approximately $5,000, were located inside the residence. Marijuana and miscellaneous pieces of drug paraphernalia were also found,” the report stated.
One of the detained suspects was released without charges. Ray Houston arrived at the residence twoards the end of the investigation. He was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance. Also arrested were 18-year-old Jamira Houston and 42-year-old Kathy Houston, both of Schulenburg, for possession of marijuana.
Pct. 4 Justice of the Peace Dan Mueller set bond for all three at $5,000.
