After contact with the driver and passenger was made, investigator Smith observed the entire passenger compartment of the SUV was full of trash bags. Investigator Smith questioned the driver about the bags and observed he became extremely nervous. Sgt. Randy Thumann arrived at the location to assist investigator Smith with the stop.

After speaking with the driver he stated he was transporting around 100 pounds of synthetic marijuana.

The driver was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and released to the Fayette County Jail.

The driver’s information is being held due to ongoing investigation.
