Armed Fugitive Arrested Near Muldoon
Fayette County Sheriff’s deputies apprehended an armed fugitive in the Muldoon area on Monday afternoon, Jan. 16.
According to a report from the Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek, 30-year-old Autry Roy Futschik III was wanted for violating his release on a felony theft charge. Futschik had been hiding from authorities since Jan. 4 and reportedly made threatening remarks directed at law enforcement about not going back to jail.
Last week the Sheriff’s Office hung wanted posters around Flatonia and southern part of the County seeking information about Futschik’s whereabouts. The poster described him as “armed and dangerous.
On Monday, Sgt. Ron Naumann of the Sheriff’s Office received a tip about Futschik’s possible location. The Sheriff’s Office organized an arrest team including Sgt. Randy Thumann and his K-9 partner Lobos, Troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety and Flatonia Police. That afternoon the officers descended on a home near Muldoon where Futschik was reportedly hiding.
