Search Underway for Missing Special Needs Teen
Fayette County Sheriff's Deputies are searching for a special needs teenager who went missing from the Whispering Hills Achievement Center outside Flatonia.
According to a report from the Sheriff's Office, the teenager was reported missing around 12:43 a.m. early this morning. Deputy C.J. Lehmann responded to the facility, located at 4110 FM 609 north of Flatonia, but was unable to locate the teen. Other agencies including Flatonia Fire and Rescue are assisting with the seach.
The missing child is a 17-year-old hispanic male with special needs. He was last seen around 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 31, wearing a black zip up jacket, blue jeans and thick black-framed glasses. Investigators do not know which direction the teen may have traveled.
