Teen Runaway Still Missing

The special needs teen who disappeared from Whispering Hills Achievement Center near Flatonia early Monday morning is still missing.

According to Lt. David Beyer of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, the teen went missing sometime after 11:15 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 29. Whispering Hills called the Sheriff’s Office to report the teen missing at 12:45 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 30

Whispering Hills is a residential facility for children with special needs and behavioral issues. Flatonia I.S.D. operates a special education campus at the facility.

Beyer said facility staff reported that the student’s internet history showed he had searched for an apartment complex in San Antonio. Beyer added that the child may have family in San Antonio. Accordingly, the Sheriff’s Office notified San Antonio Police, who visited the apartments but were unable to locate the child.
