Funeral services for L. J. Vacek, 89, of Schulenburg, will be held from the St. Rose Catholic Church in Schulenburg on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017 at 11 a.m. Visitation will begin to the public after 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the St. Rose Catholic Church in Schulenburg. The VFW memorial services will be held at 10:15 a.m., with the Parish rosary to follow at 10:30 a.m. prior to the mass. All services will be held at the St. Rose Catholic Church in Schulenburg. Interment will be in the St. Rose Catholic Cemetery in Schulenburg. Full military honors will be conducted by the Schulenburg VFW. Survivors include: wife- Frances Vacek of Schulenburg; daughters, Connie Shimek and husband David of La Grange, Sandra Warnken and husband Kevin of Schulenburg, and Tammy Vacek of Weimar; sons, Roland Vacek of Schulenburg and Jesse Vacek and wife Lezlie of Schulenburg; nine grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; two infant sisters; and four brothers. Schwenke - Baumgarten Funeral Home in Schulenburg is in charge of arrangements.
