Joyce Lillie (Hinze) Hoffmann, 75, of La Grange, died Monday, Feb. 20, 2017. Joyce was born near Round Top on March 31, 1941, the daughter of Perrie and Myrtle (Isleib) Hinze. Joyce worked as a Cash Controller for HEB and retired with thirteen years of service. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed quilting and spending time with her sisters on their monthly “sister’s day” outing. She also enjoyed bowling, gardening, fishing and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She is survived by daughter, Jane Gordon of Austin; four sons: Mark Hoffmann of Hostyn; Patrick Hoffmann of Ammannsville; Richard Hoffmann and wife, Margaret, of Hostyn; James Hoffmann and girlfriend, Susie Wick, of La Grange; three sisters: Verlene Hosea and husband, Harry Lee, of Elgin; Maxine Dominey of Willow Springs; and Jeanie Jones and Jeff Woodfin of Giddings; the father of her children, Ted Hoffmann of Hostyn; nine grandchildren: A.J., Megan, Anthony, Katie, and Heather Hoffmann; Tiffany Gordon; Victoria Salazar, Brandi and Allyson Hoffmann; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother-inlaw, Leonard Dominey. Visitation was held on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home. Family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Funeral services were held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017. Burial followed at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Hostyn. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Brazos Valley, 1048 N.
