Toto, You’re Not in Texas Anymore

As a mom, I never stop thinking about my children. When I get a phone call from one of them, my first thought is, “What’s wrong?” Most of the time my worry is unfounded, and they are just calling to talk. But this weekend, I got a phone call asking for help. Luckily, it wasn’t a lifethreatening issue – just a flat tire. The problem, for me was, the call came from the one child who lives out of state. My first instinct is always to tell my kids, “We can come get you,” or “I’ll be there as soon as I can.” But she lives eight hours away, so that was not really an option.
