Doris (Coufal) Henslee- Miller, 88, of Fayetteville, died Friday, Feb. 24, 2017 Doris was born in Willow Springs on Sept. 13, 1928, the daughter of Emil and Johanna “Jennie” (Slovacek) Coufal. She graduated from Fayetteville High School and moved to Freeport. She worked at the Dow Hospital where she met John Thomas Henslee, Jr. They were married on Dec. 8, 1948 and moved to Angleton, Texas. Their son, John “Tommy” Thomas Henslee, III was born on April 2, 1951 and their daughter, Sherry Delaine Henslee was born on April 4, 1953. After retirement, Doris and John, moved back to Willow Springs. Her first husband, John, died on March 17, 2000. On April 18, 2004, she married Leland Miller. Doris enjoyed following Leland’s Czech Band (Kovanda Band) which he organized and played in. She was a member of the Industry Brethren Church and was very active in church activities. Doris loved her grandchildren and attended their sports and school activities. She loved music and enjoyed dancing to Polka music. Doris loved her many animals especially her donkeys. She is survived by her son, Tommy Henslee, III of Fayetteville and daughter, Sherry Fenn of Magnolia; two step daughters: Kathy (Bill) Voshalike of Columbus and Sheryl Miller of Leakey; four grandchildren: Jason (Jenny) Fenn of Magnolia; Lindsay Fenn Hopper of McKinney; Erin (Dustin) Henslee Rhoades of Freeport; and Cheyenne Henslee of Houston; five great grandchildren: Adam, Austin and Autumn Fenn; Zane Hopper and Nicholas Rhoades; special friend, Dianne Chomiak and caregivers, Gene A. Vasut and wife, Helen. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, John Henslee; second husband, Leland Miller; and son-in-law, Mickey Fenn. Visitation was held on Monday, Feb. 27, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Knesek Chapel, 207 N. Live Oak St., Fayetteville. Family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Fayetteville Brethren Church, 1022 Kramr Rd., Fayetteville, at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017. Burial will follow at Fayetteville Brethren Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fayetteville Brethren Church, P.O. Box 11, Fayetteville, Texas 78940 or Industry Brethren Church, P.O. Box 73, Industry, Texas 78944.
