Emma Leverna (Stewart) Knesek, 82, of Kyle, (formerly of Buda), died Monday, March 6, 2017. Leverna was born in Rainbow on Sept. 29, 1934, the daughter of Drue (D.K.) and Thonnie (Gabrielson) Stewart. She married Edwin J. Knesek, Jr. on Feb. 3, 1961 in Pearsall. Leverna worked as an Accountant for the Texas Department of Health. She was a member of the City Council for Mustang Ridge. She is survived by three daughters: Connie Knesek and husband, Robert True, of Manchaca; Cathy McGuire and husband, Kevin, of Austin; and Janice Rogers and husband, Lonnie, of Tomball; son, Joe Knesek and wife, Becky, of Buda; and sister, Peggy Henry of Odem; six grandchildren: Matthew and Steven Rogers; Lauran and Aaron McGuire; EJ Knesek, IV and Emily Knesek; and one great grandchild, AJ McGuire, Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edwin Knesek, Jr.; brother, Raymond Stewart; and sister, Drue Catherine Stewart. Visitation was held on Thursday, March 9, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Knesek Chapel in Fayetteville. Funeral services followed beginning at 2 p.m. Burial was held at Fayetteville City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gardenia E.
