Suspect Flees, Tries to Hide Crack

La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports that Tuesday at about 12:55 p.m. he noticed a man urinating in public.

When Gilbreath approached the scene in his patrol vehicle the suspect, Mark McKenzie, 36, of La Grange fled on foot towards the Guadalupe St. area and into a backyard.

Gilbreath said McKenzie was seen trying to hide something in that backyard area. A pill bottle was later found in that vicinity containing 3.7 grams of crack cocaine. 

McKenzie was arrested for Disorderly Conduct, Evading Arrest and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
