Russell Galipp Sr

Funeral services for Russell Galipp Sr., 61 of Ledbetter, were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 15, 2017 at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. Russell Don Galipp was born on June 12, 1955 in Houston. Russell worked in the oil field for several years and was most recently employed with MIC in Brenham. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working with his hands. Russell died unexpectedly the morning of Thursday, May 11, 2017 in Giddings. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Ruth (Pietsch) Galipp; his daughter, Hanna Galipp and his brother-in-law, John Polson. Survivors include his son, Russell “Donny” Galipp Jr. of Ledbetter; his daughter and son-in-law, Tiffanie and Paul Wiggins of Somerville; six grandchildren, Cameron, Clayton and Conner Kalbas all of Serbin, Michael Wiggins of College Station, Ashlee Mize and her husband, Zachary of Lubbock and Amanda Chambers and her husband, Kit of San Angelo; five great-grandchildren, Rylee, Karsee, Aubree and Grant Mize, all of Lubbock, and Parker Chambers of San Angelo; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Michael Knight of Ledbetter; one niece, Ashton Polson of Bryan and one nephew, Chase Polson and his wife, Kasey of Port Lavaca. Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings was in charge of arrangements.
