Sheriff’s Report: Man Found Locked in Trunk; Wasp Spray Used in Fight

Sheriff Keith Korenek reports activities of Fayette County Sheriff Deputies for the month of April 2017. 

Deputy Rick Bohlmann responded to a parking complaint involving a county right of way near the Schulenburg area. Deputy Ben Wilson took a report of a possible stolen horse. It was later determined that the horse had gotten out of its pasture and was located on another person’s property. Wilson also responded to a residence on FM 1482 for a welfare check on an elderly person. The elderly male was located in the residence and was deceased. The death was ruled natural. 

Deputy Marc Bennett responded to property off of Konetzke Lane for a trespasser. There, a male was located on the property without the owner’s consent and the vehicle he was driving stuck on the property. The male was arrested for criminal trespass. 

Bennett also responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle on US Hwy 90 east of Schulenburg. Investigation resulted in a male subject who had been kidnapped and was located in the trunk of the vehicle. The kidnapping occurred in Harris County and law enforcement authorities there are continuing their investigation. Sergeant Ron Naumann took an initial report of a credit card abuse case which was occurring in another jurisdiction. 

Investigator Angela Lala is currently investigating an injury to a child at Whispering Hills where it was reported a staff member there assaulted a child. A warrant was later obtained for the staff member and an arrest was made. Lala also took a report of a lost or stolen wallet from a patron at Hruska’s in Ellinger. Deputy Hunter Embesi took a report of stolen saddles which occurred sometime during a trail ride at the Sheriff’s Posse Arena. 

Deputy Casey Thumann responded to a disturbance where two females got into an argument and sprayed one another with wasp spray. Both parties were charged with assault...
