Patsy Ruth (Kubena) Pflughaupt, 91

Patsy Ruth (Kubena) Pflughaupt, 91, of Fayetteville, entered the gates of Heaven on Wednesday, May 24, 2017. Patsy was born in Fayetteville on Oct. 26, 1925, the daughter of Rudolph R. and Minnie Mae (Spacek) Kubena. She married Glenn Pflughaupt on May 21, 1944 in Fayetteville. Patsy’s greatest joy was serving others while her husband was fighting overseas during WWII, she taught in one of several one room school houses. After Glenn returned from the military, they started a conservation contracting business with Patsy working side-by-side with her husband building the business. She and Glenn loved touring the hill country. Patsy’s greatest joy was playing bingo at Columbus Oaks, attending local county fairs, and listening to musical artists at the fairs. She was a member of the SPJST Lodge 1 and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fayetteville. She is survived by son, Ronald Pflughaupt and wife, Debra; two daughters: Sharon Fritsch and husband, Scott; Betty Gail Guthmann and husband, Warren; sister, Kaye Walla; seven grandchildren, eleven greatgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glenn; son, Glenn R. “Butch” Pflughaupt; two sisters: Bettie Schielack and Shirley Cassell. Visitation was held on Friday, May 26, 2017 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Knesek Chapel, 207 N. Live Oak in Fayetteville. Funeral Services were held at St. Paul Lutheran Church at 201 N. Rusk St. in Fayetteville at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2017. Burial followed at Fayetteville City Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service were grandsons: Cody Fritsch, Grant Guthmann, Clayton Fritsch, Matthew Guthmann and nephews: Jeff Pflughaupt and Paul Schielack. Honorary Pallbearers were granddaughters: Cassandra Staggs, Carley Aten and Kelsey Guthmann. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 87, Fayetteville, Texas 78940; SPJST Ballpark Fund, 507 E. Main St., Fayetteville, Texas 78940; or a charity of one’s choice.
