Vernon “Vic” Ray Roesler

Vernon “Vic” Ray Roesler, 73, of Katy, died Monday, May 29. Vernon was born in La Grange on July 16, 1943, a son of Vernon and Valasta (Rek) Roesler. He married Gladys (Foyt) on Jan. 30, 1965, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ellinger. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1965. He was a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service in Houston, Texas for 34 years. Vernon enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, raising his cattle, coaching Little League baseball, supporting his children and grandchildren in FFA, and continuing to stay active in the FFA even after they grew up. Vernon is survived by his wife, Gladys, of 52 years; daughter, Kim Hebler and husband, Jeff, of Cypress; two sons: Kevin Roesler and special friend, Carrie Supak, of Fayetteville; Kyle Roesler and wife, Lisa, of Katy; sister, Elleene McDonald and husband, Adrian, of Bryan; brother, Rocky Roesler and wife, Bonnie, of La Grange; grandchildren: Cody Hebler and fiancée, Kasey Bertsch; Chad Hebler and wife, Sarah; Kinsie Hebler; Kaycee Roesler; Korley Roesler; Chance Supak; Hope Supak; Traeden Supak; Cameron Roesler; Kylie Roesler; and great-grandchildren: Colton and Raylee Hebler; two sistersin- law: Dorothy Wicke and husband, Jerome, of Bernardo; and Mary White and husband, John, of La Grange; and many nieces and nephews; and beloved dog Daisy. He is preceded in death by his parents. Visitation was held on Thursday, June 1, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral services beginning at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ellinger.
