Roger Dale Hoffmann, 63, of La Grange, died June 5, 2017 in La Grange. He was born on March 19, 1954 in La Grange, grew up in Weimar, and graduated from Weimar High School. Roger was a retired welder. He was an avid hunter who loved the outdoors and enjoyed working on cars, being with friends and family and was adored by numerous nieces and nephews. He loved to read, especially western novels. Roger is survived by his step-father, Edwin Votaw of Weimar; sisters, Charlotte Rau of Tomball, Ginger Friemel of La Grange, Lisa Moellenberndt and husband Frank of La Grange, and Sherry Huebel and husband Ronnie of Columbus; brothers, Richard Bjerke and wife Phyllis of Kountze, and Charles Hoffmann and wife Barbara of Belton; step-sisters, Margaret Spier and husband Benjamin of Lindale, Marilyn Kalinec and husband Walter of Houston, and Phyllis Koopmann of Weimar; step-brother, Michael Votaw and wife Bettye of Arp; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, Gertrude Hoffmann Votaw; sister, Pamela Votaw Hughes and brothers-in-law Roy W. Rau and Frankie L. Friemel. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 11, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at 5 p.m. at Henneke Funeral Home with Deacon Joey Targac, officiating. Memorials are suggested to the charity of your choice.
