Bonnie (Kelly) Martelli, 84, of La Grange, died Friday, June 23, 2017. Bonnie was born in Muldoon, the daughter of Robert “Rip” Harvey and Ruby Pearl(Boehnke) Kelly. She married Ernest Martelli in La Grange on March 14, 1954 at the Travis Street United Methodist Church. She graduated from the Flatonia High School where she was a member of the FFA and was on the Student Council. She moved to La Grange 40 years ago from Dickinson where she worked as a secretary for the Dickinson ISD. After moving to La Grange she worked as a secretary for La Grange ISD, and retired from La Grange ISD in 1994. Bonnie had a passion for volunteering, wherever she was needed. She would oversee the kitchen at 1st Baptist Church for all the church events. She was a member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class. She volunteered for: St. Mark’s Hospital Auxiliary, AMEN in La Grange, Dickinson Library and Galveston County Memorial Hospital. She is survived by daughter, Robin Martelli-Herriage and husband, Clay of West Point; son, Mark Martelli and wife, Melissa of Dickinson; one grandson, Brandon Patterson of La Marque; two granddaughters, Carlie Martelli and Mikayla Martelli of Dickinson; one great granddaughter, Jayren Patterson of La Marque; numerous nieces, nephews and loving extended family, Walter Hurry and wife, Susan of La Grange. She was preceded in death by parents, husband, Ernest Martelli; infant sister, Ruby Marlene Kelly; brother, William Kelly. Visitation was held on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 from 12 to 7 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home in La Grange. Family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at First Baptist Church in La Grange at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2017. Burial will follow in the Pittman Cemetery in Muldoon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 121 S.
