Glenver H. Eilers, 83, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 31, 2017 in Brenham Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 2, and funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 3, both at Brenham Memorial Chapel with Pastor Sue Beall officiating. Burial followed in Latium Cemetery. Glenver was born to Edwin and Etta (Schramm) Eilers on Aug. 12, 1933 near Warrenton. He attended St. John Lutheran Church of Warrenton, where he was baptized in 1933 by Pastor Julius Bosshead and confirmed by Pastor H. T. Flackmeier in 1947. Immediately following graduation from Round Top/ Carmine High School, Glenver joined the United States Air Force in 1952 and served his country until 1956. On Oct. 28, 1956, he was united in marriage to Frances Muske at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Shelby by Pastor William Doerr. Glenver worked as an upholsterer at Maddox Furniture for nearly 32 years and site maintenance at Blue Bell for more than 24 years. Glenver was a member of the Meyersville Volunteer Fire Department, Sons of Hermann Lodge No. 28 and the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Wiedeville, where he served many years on the church council. Glenver loved to dance and be with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Frances Eilers; two sons and daughter-in-law, Roger Eilers of New Ulm, Michael and Wendy Eilers of Wesley; half-sister, Genell Rohde of Warrenton; sisters-in-law, Marian Muske of Shelby and Lida Mae Muske of Katy; brother-inlaw, Emmett Muske of Burton; grandchildren, Erica (Eilers) and Jon Waldrop of Sealy, Dylan and Jade Eilers of New Ulm, David and Jessica Knesek of Sealy and Daniel Knesek of Sealy; great-grandchildren, Harlow and Slade Waldrop, Dean Eilers, Lynden, Natalie, Faith and Cole Knesek and Avah Knesek, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bruno and Elda Muske; brothers-in-law, Clinton Rohde Sr., Audley Muske Sr., Nelson Muske and great nephew Dutch Muske. Serving as pallbearers will be Audley Muske Jr., Clinton Rohde Jr., Doyle Muske, Jade Eilers, David and Daniel Knesek.
