Calvin Helmuth Dieringer
Calvin Helmuth Dieringer, 74, of Schulenburg, died at Schulenburg Regency Nursing Center in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2017. He suffered from congestive heart failure. Born Oct. 11, 1942 at home in Freyburg to Helmuth and Adelheid Olle Dieringer he attended Freyburg school and later Schulenburg High School. German was his first language and he had to learn English to properly attend school. He graduated from Schulenburg High School in 1961. On Oct. 9, 1965 he married Geneva Jurek at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flatonia. They were married for 44 years until her death on April 27, 2010. He lived in Schulenburg all of his life with the exception of five years in which he lived in Houston working for his brother in law Elmer Ulrich’s sheet rocking business. He then worked for the Carnation Plant in Schulenburg and finally Double B Foods in Schulenburg for the next 32 years. Calvin spent most of his time on his wife’s family farm in Flatonia tending to his cattle. On Monday’s you would find him at the Flatonia Auction Barn and on Thursday morning’s drinking coffee with his friends at the Schulenburg Whataburger. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and the Sons of Herman. Preceding him in death were his parents and his wife. Schwenke Baumgarten Funeral Home in Schulenburg was in charge of the arrangements.
