Travis “Tabby” Zingelmann, 66, of Waldeck, died Monday, Sept. 4, 2017. Tabby was born in Houston on Sept. 3, 1951, the son of Albert “F.E.” Zingelmann and Mamie June (Gresham) Zingelmann. Tabby was self-employed doing fencing and carpentry work. He also worked as a brick layer and in his younger years worked in full service gas stations in Houston. He was a “ray of sunshine”, always making others feel better by his hilarious sense of humor. Tabby loved country, polka and waltz music. He enjoyed singing and dancing. He was a great dancer. His greatest was spending time with his family, having a special love for his brothers and sisters. He is survived by sister, Betty Gerik of Frelsburg; brother, Ray Zingelmann and wife, Carol, of Frelsburg; brother, James Zingelmann and wife, Sandy, of Longview, Wash.; sister, Selma Malek of Montgomery; and uncle, Delvin Zingelmann of La Grange; special Godson, Travis Marek; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Betty Larell; two brothers-inlaw, Jimmie Gerik and Lawrence Malek; nine aunts and eight uncles. Visitation will be held on Friday, Sept. 8, 2017 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Koenig & Strickland Funeral at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017. Burial will follow at Waldeck Cemetery. Flowers welcome, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Waldeck Cemetery or a charity of one’s choice.
