Schulenburg’s Dan Taber Dies at 70
Schulenburg attorney and retired municipal judge Dan Taber died Friday morning, Sept. 8, in Weimar. He was 70 years old.
Taber was a long-time fixture in the Schulenburg community and was one of town’s most prominent supporters.
He is survived by his wife, Jill Taber of Schulenburg; daughter, Jenifer Tofte and husband Michael of Cypress; son, Dr. Casey Taber and wife Kristal of San Antonio; brother, Curtis Taber and wife Eleanor of Dallas; and sister-in-law, Patsy Taber of Lubbock. Five grandchildren also survive: Madison Tofte, Megan Tofte and Taber Tofte of Cypress and Beau Taber and Kennedy Taber of San Antonio. Memorial contributions may be made to ALZ.org, Schulenburg High School Athletic Department, or a charity of one’s choice.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home in Schulenburg is handling the arrangements.
