After the Flood

The aftermath of the flooding from Hurricane Harvey has been a headache for so many. Those who lost their homes were faced with finding a place to sleep at night. A small number of them were able to find another home. Some of them were able to find hotel rooms. Others are living with another family and some are sleeping in their cars.

As if that were not enough, these same people have been asked by their insurance companies to fill out an itemized list of all of their possessions that were lost in the flood. This list includes the items description, brand, model number, quantity, age, cost of item or cost to replace (depending on the insurance policy), condition of item (I’m assuming that meant before the flood), where the item was and a picture of the item. Some are even asking if the receipt is available. Really? I’m pretty sure if the receipt was still available before the flood, it is not available any more.
