Galow

Donald Ray Galow, 72, of La Grange, died Sept. 18, 2017. He was born on Aug. 8, 1945 in El Campo to the late Oscar Galow and Martha “Annie” Koenig Galow. Donald grew up in Louise, raised his family in El Campo and retired in La Grange, so he and his wife, Sherry, could spend time with their children and grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and visiting with friends and family. Don’s legacy is the large family he leaves behind, whom are grateful for the years of love, knowledge and kindness he taught and shared. Don was a former member of Bay City Lions Club and a former Modern Farmer Coop board member. He is survived by his loving wife, Sherry Guynes Galow of La Grange; oldest son, Troy M. Galow and wife Jacqui of Liberty Hill; daughter, Michelle Galow Gates and husband Jeff of Anahuac and their child, Kyle; son, Tracy W. Galow and wife Christi of Austin and their children, Tyler, Tanner, and Emma; youngest son, Jason R. Galow and wife Jessyka of College Station, and their children, Addyson and Oscar. Don is also survived by his two siblings, brother, Doug Galow and wife Becky of El Campo and sister, Kathy Galow Quintero of Streetman. Visitation was from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21 at Triska Funeral Home. Funeral services followed at 1 p.m. with Rev. Wayne Clement officiating. Burial followed at Hawley Cemetery in Blessing. Pallbearers were Chris Guynes, Jerry Guynes, Terry Guynes, Marty Galow, Quintin Quintero, Philip Webernick, and Curtis Wilson. Honorary pallbearer was Rodney Johnson.
