Robert J. Kovar, Jr.

Robert J. Kovar, Jr., 84, of Fayetteville, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017. Robert was born in Rek Hill on Nov. 1, 1932, the son of Robert J. Kovar, Sr. and Evelyn (Kulhanek) Kovar. He married Annette Genevieve Cmajdalka on Feb. 3, 1953 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville. Robert worked as a farmer most of his life and owned a welding fabrication shop in later years. He is survived by one son, Richard “Ricky” Kovar and wife, Gayle, of Fayetteville; two grandchildren: Josh Kovar and wife, Candace of Pettus; and Amanda (Kovar) Campbell and husband, Patrick of Brenham; five great grandchildren: Brandon, Blake and Makayla Kovar; Nathan and Addison Campbell. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Annette, who died Jan. 18, 2012. Visitation was held on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017 from 12 to 7 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Knesek Chapel in Fayetteville. Family received friends from 4 to 7 p.m. A prayer service was held at 7 p.m. Funeral services were held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017. Burial will follow at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department.
