Runaway LG Teen Found on Thanksgiving
A 17-year-old female is safe at home in La Grange after allegedly working as an underage prostitute in the Houston area last week. Authorities are withholding the teen’s name.
La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath said another woman, a 20-year-old female formerly of La Grange who now lives in the Houston area, picked up the teen from her guardian’s home in La Grange on Sunday, Nov. 19. Gilbreath said the teen left willingly. The teen’s guardian called La Grange Police the following day to report her missing.
Gilbreath said his department entered the teen’s information into runaway and missing persons databases.
Three days later, on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 23, deputies from the Harris County Pct. 4 Constable’s Office located the teen at the Express Inn motel in Humble, located on the North Freeway frontage road near North Vista Drive in north Harris County. Gilbreath said the deputy constables found the teen after she texted her guardian in La Grange, saying she was scared. The guardian advised her to call 911 from the motel room, which alerted authorities to her location.
