Stueber

James Everett Stueber was born on July 9, 1946 in Brenham, the son of Grady and Louise (Jahnke) Stueber. He was baptized and confirmed at the First United Methodist Church in Giddings. Jim graduated from Giddings High School in 1965 and served in the United States Army for one year and in the National Guard for six years. He owned and operated Jim’s Auto Sales in Giddings for many years. Jim died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017 at St. Luke’s Baptist Hospital in San Antonio following a battle with cancer. Jim is survived by his three children, Cheryl Pietsch and her husband, Gary of Giddings, Kevin Stueber of Giddings and Audra Viesca and her husband, David of Giddings; seven grandchildren; one brother, Mike Stueber of Flatonia; one sister-in-law, Kathy Stueber of Giddings; two step-brothers, Clifton Akin and his wife, Debe of Tanglewood and Charlie Akin of Giddings as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for James “Jim” Stueber, 71, of Giddings and formerly of Rockport, were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017 at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings with Tim Pitts officiating. Burial, with military honors provided by the Giddings American Legion York Post 276 followed in the Giddings City Cemetery.
