Annie M. East

Annie M. East, 80, of Houston, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018. She was born Dec. 2, 1937 in La Grange to Nathaniel East and Gracie (Brown) East. She is survived by her daughter, Jacquelyn Mathews and husband Tommy of Houston; sons, Charles East of Houston and Carl East of Houston; sisters, Margaret Adams of Schulenburg and Bernice Griffin of Houston; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, seven sisters, and one brother. Funeral Services were held at Second Baptist Church in La Grange at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 13 with the Rev. T. Leon Preston, II officiating. Burial followed in the Bethlehem AME Church Cemetery in La Grange. Tommy E. Taylor Funeral Home in La Grange was in charge of arrangements.
