Winnie Whitaker Drago

Winnie Whitaker Drago, 89, of La Grange, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018. Winnie was born on Sept. 11, 1928 in Venus, Texas to parents Gaye and Charlie Whitaker. She attended John H. Reagan High School in Houston. She married Edward Drago Sept. 9, 1949. Winnie and Ed raised their one child, Diana. Besides being a loving wife and caring mother, Winnie loved her work with beautiful flowers as a florist for 35 years. She cherished her friends at Terrace United Methodist Church and La Grange United Methodist Church. She is survived by her loving daughter, Diana Wilson and her husband Sam, her two grand daughters, Elizabeth and Erica, four nieces and two nephews. Funeral service will be at Woodlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery in Houston, Saturday Jan. 20 at 1 p.m. A family visitation will be held at La Grange United Methodist Church on Sunday, Jan. 21 at 1 p.m. Winnie would want to say thank you to her friends for so much love and wonderful memories.
