Fred Tonn

Fred Tonn, 74, of Houston, blinked his eyes closed here on Earth and blinked his eyes open in The Kingdom of Heaven with God his heavenly father, Jesus and The Holy Spirit welcoming him on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018. Fred was born on May 30, 1943 at the family home in Manheim, Texas. At his baptism on June 13, 1943 at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Manheim, Fred became a member of God’s forever family. On April 14, 1957, surrounded by his Christian family Fred confirmed his Baptismal Vows and joined the Lutheran Church-LCMS at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda. Fred graduated from Giddings High School in 1961; Concordia Junior College, Austin, in 1963 and received his Bachelor’s degree from Concordia College, Seward, Neb. in 1965. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1515 Hillendahl in Houston. Waltrip Funeral Home in Houston was in charge of arrangements.
