Am I Too Old for This?

I’m exhausted. Why?

Well that’s a story that starts about two weeks ago. I spent three days at a conference in San Diego last week, Monday- Wednesday – and no, I did not get to do any sightseeing. I didn’t get to do anything touristy at all. I was hoping to get to do something between the end of the newspaper conference on Wednesday at noon and my flight home at 6 p.m., but that didn’t happen. My three days were spent in presentations and meetings. I woke up every morning at 3 a.m. I usually get up at 5 a.m. and my body did not make the switch. I learned a lot, but I never quite adjusted to California time.

Upon arrival at the airport for the flight home, I received notification that my flight had been delayed by at least an hour due to a mechanical problem. That one hour turned into two and my arrival back in Austin went from 10:45 p.m. to 12:45 a.m. That would not have been so bad if I did not have to be at work by 7 a.m. on Thursday. So, I survived on coffee on top of more coffee.
