Lonnie Wilkerson, Jr

Lonnie Wilkerson, Jr., 84, of La Grange died Sunday, April 1, 2018. He mwas born Dec. 4, 1933 in Fayette County to Lonnie Wilkerson, Sr. and Velva Mae (Williams) Wilkerson. He married Grace (Gregory) Johnson and worked as a stocker at HEB 979-335-4025 Grocery Store in La Grange. He was a lifelong member of St. James United Methodist Church in La Grange. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a Airman 2C in the Korean War. He is survived by his wife of La Grange; sister, Thelma O’Neal of Bay City and brother, Herbert Stanford of Bay City. He was preceded in death by his parents, aunts, and uncles. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 6 at 11 a.m. at St. James United Methodist Church in La Grange. The Rev. Grace L. Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow in the La Grange City Cemetery. Tommy E. Taylor Funeral Home in La Grange is in charge of arrangements.
