Maas
Everett Maas, 89, of Round Top, died Thursday, April 12, 2018. Everett was born in Rutersville on Dec. 29, 1928, the son of Willie and Frieda (Paweleck) Maas. He married Geneva Sophia Josie Brau on July 18, 1948 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Round Top. He and Geneva moved to Deer Park and began their life in the city. After retiring from Shell as an operator, Everett worked for the Deer Park School District as a locksmith. Everett and Geneva moved back to Round Top to enjoy the country. Everett enjoyed spending time with his family, dancing, baseball, tending to his cattle on his farm, driving his tractor and was very dedicated to his church. He is survived by daughter, Lindy McCrea and husband, Jim of Houston; two sons: Roger Glen Maas and wife, Jenny of Houston and Steven Lynn Maas and wife, Eileen of Pasadena; three grandchildren: Marc Andrew Maas, Carrie Melissa Maas and Madison Eileen Maas; special niece, Lila Ruth Garlin of Round Top; two brothers-in-law, Vernon Brau and Delmus Brau; special friend and companion, Aldine Bernshausen; and numerous extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Geneva (Brau) Maas; two half- brothers, Willie Maas Jr. and Rommie Maas; three brothers-in-law; Ollie, Kellie and Earl Arno Brau and one sister-in-law, Amanda Busch. Visitation was held on Monday, April 16, 2018 from 12 to 1 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in La Grange followed by services at 1 p.m. Burial followed in Florida Chapel Cemetery in Round Top. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Round Top-Warrenton Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 145, Round Top, Texas 78954, or St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 110 W.
