Pardo
Jane (Perkins) Pardo, 92, of La Grange, Texas, died peacefully on April 19, 2018. She was born in Houston on Nov. 26, 1925 to Benjamin Bryce Perkins and Bonnie Sammons. Jane was a native of Houston and it was her favorite place to be. She worked her entire career in Houston and retired from El Paso Natural Gas in 1985. She later moved to La Grange to be closer to her grandchildren whom she adored. Her passion was genealogy and she was very active in the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a member of Ann Poage Chapter and then Smith McMillan Chapter. Jane served each chapter in many positions. She was especially proud to have served the Texas Society NSDAR as State Recording Secretary and Corresponding Secretary. She worked tirelessly helping new members prove their genealogy so they too could join DAR. Jane was a member of The USD of 1812, Colonial Dames, The Daughters of the Republic of Texas, and Hugeunot Founders and Patriots. She is survived by daughter, Gina Minzenmeyer, and husband, Glen, of La Grange; three grandchildren: Bryan Minzenmeyer and wife, Courtney, of Katy; Maria Stewart and husband, Brent, of Dallas; and Mandi Minzenmeyer of Dallas; one great grandchild, Grayson Minzenmeyer; daughter-in-law, Sue Lane McCulley of Richmond; brother, Ed Perkins and wife, Jean, of Bellaire; sister, Elizabeth Harp and husband, Jimmie, of Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by son, Tom McCulley and cousin, Judy McDonald. Visitation was held at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Family received friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Funeral services were held at United Evangelical Lutheran Church in Swiss Alp at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2018. Burial followed at the United Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorial remembrance may be made to the Smith Mc- Millan Chapter of the Texas DAR, Swiss Alp Lutheran Heritage Foundation, Hospice Brazos Valley or to the charity of one’s choice.
