4th Annual Country Gospel Show in Giddings Set for April 29
Tired of what is passing for music on mainstream radio and TV? If so, plan to attend the 4th Annual Country Gospel Jamboree, to be held Sunday, April 29 at the Giddings High School auditorium. The opry-style show kicks off at 6:30 p.m., hosted by Second Chance, the band of the Cowboy Church of Lee County. Admission is free, and $8 hamburger plates will be available starting at 5:30 p.m.
The Second Chance band consists of award-winning fiddler and vocalist Paul Schlesinger of Taylor, his wife Tara Schlesinger on piano, and bassist Bill Tucker of Lexington. Steel guitarist Roy Carroll of Round Rock and drummer Jim Bowles of Austin will round out the band. Second Chance will back a select group of area talent well versed in traditional, country flavored gospel music.
